Russia was among top 10 countries in terms of attendance at LIGNA 2017, world’s leading fair for forestry and the woodworking industry, that took place in Hannover (Germany) on 22-26 May 2017. This fact clearly reflects a significant level of Russian timber specialists’ interest in innovations developed for the timber industry.
In particular, LIGNA was visited by a Sverdlovsk region delegation comprising representatives of the region’s Ministry of the Investments and Development, Middle Ural Development Corporation, Ural State Forestry Engineering University and the Interregional Exhibition Company-Ural (organizer of GRAND EXPO-URAL).
The representatives of the Sverdlovsk region held a number of important talks on the evolution of LESPROM-URAL Professional as an effective marketing platform for international leaders of forestry and the woodworking industry. Other topics included strengthening Russian-German cooperation in the field of exhibition organization in Ekaterinburg, and promotion of the Ural region across the international community.
Since 1975, LIGNA has been taking place every other year providing an ideal meeting place for forestry and woodworking professionals. In 2017, LIGNA delivered really impressive results, with over 1500 exhibitors from 50 countries, 10 exhibition halls and an outdoor area covering the total of 129 000 sqm, 93 000 visitors from over 100 countries (incl. professionals representing 95%).
LIGNA is passing the baton to LESPROM-URAL Professional, the next event on the forestry and woodworking fair agenda of Deutsche Messe, organizer of LIGNA. Being a joint project of the Interregional exhibition company-Ural and Deutsche Messe in Ekaterinburg, LESPROM-URAL Professional is an international specialized exhibition of machines, equipment and technologies for forestry and the woodworking industry, and the No.1 event for forestry and timber sector professionals in the Ural region. LESPROM-URAL Professional will be held within GRAND EXPO-URAL on 19-22 September 2017.
