Promising specialized exhibitions held within the Sverdlovsk region are to be raised to the scale of thematic INNOPROMs, providing another driving force to help the Middle Ural solidify its leading positions among Russian regions.
During the government meeting on the 7h of February, mr. Evgeniy Kuyvashev, the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region, instructed his deputies and ministers to elaborate a plan for enlarging and ‘deepening’ thematic exhibitions within a month.
These measures will be integrated into the exhibition and congress sector development concept adopted during the meeting.
«I think that every serious exhibition organized in the Sverdlovsk region that involves regional budget and is supported by local authorities shall in essence be aimed at developing and promoting the region as well as reinforcing the growth ideology», Mr. Kuyvashev said.
According to Alexey Orlov, the First Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk region, who has experience with INNOPROM and other similar events, the goal set by the Governor by 2020 to hold at least 5 large federal and international level events is quite achievable.
«The Sverdlovsk region is able to put forward competitive offers in the area of construction and modern life technologies, education, including continuous one, sports and active lifestyle. I believe this list can be completed. We have all resources for that, such as a great exhibition center, significant experience, a good team, established relations, including with the biggest exhibitions. There is a real chance to develop the regional LESPROM-URAL Professional exhibition into a huge international event. There are needs and ideas for enriching the show with a good event program», explained Mr. Orlov.
He also marked that one of the most prominent 2016 events was the GRAND EXPO-URAL Week which comprises 4 specialized exhibitions: LESPROM-URAL Professional, EXPOMEBEL-URAL, AQUAPROM-URAL и UTILIZATION. This event exceeded all expectations in terms of the number of exhibitors and visitors which was due in a large part to cooperation with German colleagues despite imposed sanctions.
