The Ministry of Investment and Development of the Sverdlovsk Region and the Sverdlovsk Regional Business Support Foundation summed up the Matchmaking Event, which took place last week in the framework of GRAND EXPO-URAL – specialized exhibitions week. As a result of talks between the foreign companies and the Sverdlovsk businessmen, there are preliminary agreements to cooperate amounting more than € 700.000. It is planned that enterprises of the Sverdlovsk region will conclude contracts with companies from Germany, Latvia, Turkey and Finland.
Looking back, the Matchmaking Event was organized by Deutsche Messe RUS and Sverdlovsk Regional Business Support Foundation, regional partner of the European business network, in the frame of business state support measures. In total there were 30 companies from 10 countries. Ural business community was represented by more than 70 companies. Potential contracts are from the following industries: woodworking, mechanical engineering, waste management.
Options for cooperation between foreign and Ural businesses are different. On the one hand, Russian companies are planning to buy foreign recycling technologies, on the other hand –products and technologies of companies from Sverdlovsk region are interesting for internationals. E.g., the company Solid Flame held talks with Matthiessen Lagertechnik GmbH, a German manufacturer of equipment for waste recycling. Foreign company considers technology offer from Ural company related to production of wear-resistant parts for further testing and deployment into production.
«Development of international cooperation is one of the priorities of the Government of Sverdlovsk region. Today the Sverdlovsk region has economic ties with more than 100 countries worldwide, approximately 1.500 enterprises have foreign-economic activity. Export volume of the Sverdlovsk region totaled $ 6.5 bn in 2015. Imports are $ 2.5 bn», - said Alexey Orlov, acting Chairman of the Sverdlovsk Region Government - Minister for Investment and Development.
The arrival of foreign companies in the Sverdlovsk region was organized in the framework of the agreement on cooperation between the Sverdlovsk Region and the company Hannover Fairs International GmbH represented by its subsidiary in Russia OOO Deutsche Messe RUS. Looking back, the document was signed by the Governor of Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvashev and the representative of Hannover Fairs International Kai Varrelmann at INNOPROM exhibition in 2014.
