LESPROM-URAL: Sverdlovsk Region to host Russia’s Logging Championship «LESORUB-2018»

The Sverdlovsk region has been selected to host the Russian Logging Championship «LESORUB-2018». The competition will take place in the region’s capital city of Ekaterinburg on 19-21 September 2018. This decision was made by the organizing committee in Moscow last week.

LESORUB-2018 is organized by the Union of Timber Manufacturers and Exporters of Russia and Government of the Sverdlovsk Region, and supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation and the Federal Forestry Agency of Russia.

The Championship is a very spectacular and professional oriented event. It is an honorable opportunity for us to not only show our region rich with forest resources and possessing a developed forestry infrastructure, but also to showcase the best qualities of Ural people, demonstrate professional skills and ensure that the Lesorub 2018 Championship is organized at the highest professional level», said Aleksey Orlov, the First Deputy Governor.

LESORUB-2018 will take place in the international exhibition center “Ekaterinburg-Expo” and will bring together an estimated 100 contestants from 30 Russian regions and abroad.
The Championship will take place alongside multiple cultural and business events, including LESPROM-URAL Professional, the international specialized exhibition for forestry and woodworking machines, technology and equipment in the framework of the GRAND EXPO-URAL Week at Ekaterinburg-Expo on 18-21 September 2018. This largest forestry and the woodworking fair in the Ural-Siberian region brought together 262 companies from 19 countries and 7000 visitors in 2017. “These are potential future viewers of the Championship”, said Aleksey Orlov.
The registration of teams and individual participants for the 6th Russian Championship in 2018 is open.
