On the 21st of September, the Acting First Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Aleksey Orlov attended GRAND EXPO-URAL Week of international specialized exhibitions. During this visit, he marked the great importance of this event for the region’s development.
"This exhibition has been growing and evolving. For the 4th time in a row we have supported it in the format which combines various industries that are presented in the same venue and complete each other in harmony. These industries include woodworking, furniture manufacturing, HVAC&R equipment and industrial and household waste management. The quality of the exposition has been improved, and the business program features serious events. We thank our partner Deutsche Messe AG for the international input in the exhibition", said Aleksey Orlov.
The exhibition brought together 219 exhibitors from 19 countries and 20 Russian regions. According to Andrey Sobolev, acting Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk region, this shows that the Sverdlovsk region has been growing as an exhibition and congress region.
“The exhibition enjoys the patronage of the region’s Governor Evgeniy Kuyvashev which provides it with a solid status and growth opportunities. Today, the Sverdlovsk region is really becoming a business communications hub and a very important exhibition region. We hope that the international matchmaking event that is held during this exhibition will enable companies to find partners for business development in our region”, said Andrey Sobolev.
He added that the industries presented at the exhibition are priorities for the region development and attractive for foreign investors.
Sergey Perestoronin, Head of the Ministry of Industry and Science of the Sverdlovsk region, said that specialized exhibitions facilitate solving issues that are topical for the regional development, including those outlined by Evgeniy Kuyvashev in the “5-Year Development Plan” program.
“The program stipulates specific parameters, including those related to the gross domestic product growth, export and labor productivity. It is important to understand what growing points can help to achieve these goals. For instance, annually our region’s population spend 20 billion rubles to buy furniture while the region’s production accounts for 1.5 billion rubles. Almost all furniture accessories are imported. These are financially intensive segments, and if our industrial enterprises have necessary competencies, we can imbue them with financial and administrative resources to obtain specific results”, said Sergey Perestoronin.
It is to be reminded that GRAND EXPO-URAL exhibitions are supported by the Sverdlovsk region government and take place in Ekaterinburg on 19-22 September 2017.
The exhibitions showcase products of world’s leading manufacturers from Russia, Germany, Italy, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Slovenia, Belarus and other countries.
The business program offers trainings, seminars, the matchmaking event for 5 industries, a qualification round of the industrial furniture design national award "Russian Cabriole" and the international Best Forestry Machine Operator competition in the framework of World Skills.
